Great experience!

The tour guide Simon was great! Even though it was a full day tour, it just showed how much is still left to explore. I would be using Cheeky Kiwi when I come back.

Superb trip!

Ari and Hamoz were excellent guides! They made the experience comfortable and informative. I really enjoyed it all. Spring is the time to go, as everything is in bloom! Seeing the Hobbiton set was amazing, and the Rotorua experience was informative. I loved all of it, and would recommend to anyone.

Amazing

Great tour.. hobbitton and the region lived up to a fan's expectation and imagination. Dave's, our tour driver, commentary was very helpful... and because of him we went to weta workshop today which i didnt initially know about. Thanks a lot Dave. Te Puia was just beautiful.. made me realise that such a beautiful and rich culture exist in this part of the world... Kiora

A Journey of Magic, Culture & Connection

The tour was absolutely incredible and truly one of a kind! You don’t need to be a Lord of the Rings fan to enjoy Hobbiton — it’s such a magical place that instantly transports you into the movie scenes. I was filled with excitement throughout the entire guided tour, and it’s an experience I’ll treasure forever. Te Puia in Rotorua was another unforgettable highlight. The Māori Arts & Crafts Institute was fascinating, and I loved learning about the culture and traditions during the guided tour led by a Māori guide. It was both educational and inspiring. A special shoutout to Michael, our driver and guide, who made the day even more special. He kept us well-informed before each stop, encouraged everyone to introduce themselves (which made the group feel like friends), and shared interesting insights along the way. His playlist was spot-on too — it added such a relaxing vibe to the entire journey. Thank you, Cheeky Kiwi, for a wonderful experience filled with memories and connections that I’ll carry home as priceless souvenirs!

All around great tour

This tour was awesome! The pickup was easy and the drive is beautiful. Our guide, Alfredo, was very friendly and was able to share points of interest along the way. Hobbiton has a separate guided tour which was so fun. I went to Te Puia, a Maori cultural learning center (plus some geysers and kiwi birds), which was beautiful and also very interesting. Thanks Cheeky Kiwi!

great day at Hobbiton and Tepuia

This was a great tour and lived up to everything that was advertised. We loved hobbiton and the setting was amazingly beautiful.The tour guide also did a great job of explaining everything about the sets. We then went on to Tepuia and saw the boiling mud and geysers which was also well worth the visit. But what also made the tour perfect was our driver Hazan who kept everything going like clock work and was also entertaining and helpful the whole day.He really is fantastic and so professional at what he does

Amazing Day with Cheeky Kiwi Tours!

We joined the Hobbiton & Rotorua Small Group Tour including Te Puia from Auckland on 5th October, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our driver and guide, John, was absolutely fantastic, funny, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating trivia about New Zealand. He kept everyone engaged and entertained throughout the long drive, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. Hobbiton was magical, Te Puia was a cultural and geothermal wonder, and John’s extra touches (like his recommendation for the famous ice cream stop in Pokeno) made the day even more special. The tour was well-paced, comfortable, and perfectly organized. We highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi Tours and especially John for anyone looking to explore Hobbiton, Rotorua, and Te Puia in a fun and memorable way!
