We were picked up at our hotel by the amazing Matt in a clean air condition safe vehicle with seatbelts that was a wonderful tour guide, kind and gracious and fun. He was explaining all the different sites we were going past. Hobbiton village was absolutely amazing. I loved the books and of course the movie I had no idea. I would enjoy the actual movie set as much as I did. It was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful with every little detail in touch and you can’t even go inside a couple of the houses it was fantastic and it’s so gorgeous to be able to see the countryside as well as we did highly recommend that and then we went to Ritu cultural center, which was fantastic taught us all about the culture about the geysers in the hot water Springs along with we got to see a kiwi bird too kiwi birds, which was fantastic. I loved that also. Highly recommend this tour ask for Matt

Best day of my trip so far, grant was an exceptional guide!! Really gave us a feel of new Zealand and gave great explanations

Dave was so wonderful- thank you so much Dave for sharing your Knowledge with us during the trip and making it so much fun!! He even took us to a local ice cream shop to end the trip. Hobbiting and the geothermal site was amazing! 10/10- recommend Dave and this tour!

Dave is an amazing tour guide! I had so much fun! The tour itself was very well planned out and I was able to get back to my hotel before sunset. I highly recommend.

Great trip. Cheeky Ben was a safe driver, told relevant facts and stories and ask for feedback and concerns throughout the experience. It’s a long day, but we had fun. Hobbiton was a 2 hour tour in the morning, then on to Wai-O-Tupa in the afternoon for a 90 minute tour walk around the thermal geysers. We don’t walk fast enough (especially stopping to take photos) to get to all 3 walks (none in the van did) in 90 mins and it was hot (don’t forget sunscreen like we did! Luckily Ben had some), but it was still fun, though a couple couldn’t handle the smell of sulfur. A stop on the way and on the return for facilities and a snack was adequate. Water and snacks included.

A well organised cheerful trip with Hobbiton as the star. Ben drove really well and was delightful. As a solo with some hearing loss I asked if I could sit up front and so it was good to chat. He picked us up as scheduled and dropped me off near to where I needed to go. That was kind. I have never seen volcanic activity so this was really special. The stops were good. Great coffee and fabulous bakery in Rotorua. Take water and a hat for the walk at the sites. I did a good 9k steps but that could be less if needed. It is a full day. 5:55 to 19:45 so be prepared. Loved it.

The communication with our driver was excellent. Thank you Simon for an awesome day and sharing some great information. Also for making sure my spouse was comfortable on the trip.

The tour was fantastic, and John is an amazing guide. He told us many interesting facts about the northern island and the region we were visiting. He also showed us some interesting places on the way to the main attractions. Our guide also did a great job of integrating our group, allowing me to meet some really cool and interesting people from other parts of the world. The main attractions were fantastic, especially the visit to Hobbiton, which was amazing. I stumbled upon Cheeky Kiwi's offer by chance, and this was my third trip in New Zealand organized by Cheeky Kiwi and I will definitely use their services again in the future.

Dave was excellent and we had a lovely time exploring all these places. Highly recommend it to family, couples, friends, or even solo.

Cheeky Michael and Nicky were fantastic guides. The whole day was very well planned out and I had a really great time. Having a small tour made it feel more perosnal

Really enjoyed the tour despite having to do it in a rainy day. Micheal, our tour guide and driver of the day is very helpful and friendly.

What a fantastic experience! loved being able to transfer with my luggage from Auckland to Rotorua and include such an iconic experience at Hobbiton! our driver guide picked a great rest stop on our way for breakfast allowing for the perfect amount of time to order food enjoy eating it and to use the washroom. our guide was very knowledgeable along the whole trip and provided very clear instructions as to where and when to be so we didn't miss our Hobbiton entrance. our group had only 8 people in the vehicle which allowed for plenty of space to stretch out for the drive. the vehicle also included USB ports to charge devices. Hobbiton was such a surprise and blew me away! this is a must stop to experience while in New Zealand! I would highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi and the Auckland to Rotorua via Hobbiton Small Group Tour (One Way)

We had so much fun! Dave was such a great guide. Always looking out for us to find the best way to experience the journey. He kept giving us tips on where to sit for the best views, or where to take the best photos. Weather was on our side, so we had a beautiful journey to Hobbiton, and we got to learn a lot about the history and culture of the area. Thanks Dave!

amazing cheeky kiwi guide Jeff was careful with elderly travellers and attentive at all times with great informative narration, and Hobbiton is the best, we had a magical experience

Our one way tour from Auckland to Rotorua was an incredible experience. Our pickup at our hotel was timely and our guide, Simon, was incredibly informative and supported everyone’s needs. Our stop at Hobbiton was an amazing movie set tour. Our small group was kept on pace to make time for the rest of our stops. There was some road work we waited for on the way to Rotorua, but Simon was patient and found ways to make up time throughout the day. We enjoyed seeing the geysers and kiwis at Te Pau.

The tour was more than what I expected. The driver and guide Simon was pretty nice, kind, helpful and had a great communication with everyone.

An amazing way to get from Auckland to Rotorua. Friendly and fun tour guide, beautiful scenery and Hobbiton was incredible!

The trip was phenomenal! John was a very funny and friendly guide, and he made sure to accommodate us as we had different travel plans from the other guests. He's a great guide and I strongly recommend him. Thanks John!

Great driver/tour leader, everything was smooth, would recommend. Hobbiton is a special place and we were appreciative of the ability to do a one-way transfer.
Sarie
Awsome and fun. Very good guide. Could easyly have spend more time there. One minus though. The groups Are to big.we were 41. And that was atleast 15 to many.
Jesper T
It was a good experience. I really liked the glow warms cave. The bus was clean and arrived on time. The staff was friendly and shared interesting stories about the place and history.
Anastasia S
Great drive and rich with luscious greenery. We really valued the info that Grant (our guide) offered and his helpful tips. There was the ability to opt in to the Te Puia experience, so give it a thought if you have the time. Grant showed us around town as well, giving us the sort of friendly service only a Kiwi could provide. Would definitely recommend and say that it is worth the money!

The tour started timely with our guide Simon picking us up at the meeting place at 6am. He's friendly and cheerful. He shared and chat with the guests who are from a diverse group such as US, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, etc. The drive was smooth & scenic and he always share with us what's ahead in advance before the next stop. He looks out for the guests and checked that everyone is present. We would also like to thank Simon for going the extra mile in dropping us at our hotel in Rotorua & helping to carry our luggages. The Waitimo caves is "wow, woo, ah...." just can't pinpoint any words to describe what I saw and felt there & then. I am glad to have been there to view such magnificent & iconic destination! Thank you for the constant reminders to us so as not to forget the activity & most importantly for the seamless coordination. Kudos to Simon & the team for doing a great job!

Pasamos un día muy especial. Las cuevas de Waitomo son muy interesantes. Los geisers de Rotorua también aprendimos sobre La cultura maori y los kiwis. Hanos fue un gran guía.

The trip was fulfilling, the activities were amazing, well organized, well explained, and done with patience. Our tour guide Jeoff was very patient well knowledgeable of the history and the surroundings of Rotorua. It was 100% enjoyable. I give Jeoff 10/10
Lucy D
Jeoff was a friendly and knowledgeable host and the trip was outstanding. The Waitomo Caves was excellent as well as the geysers in Te Puia. Would thoroughly recommend.

Our tour guide John was fabulous! Friendly & lots of local knowledge.. def recommend him and we’d love to give him a 5 star review! Tour was easy from pick up from our hotel to travelling along the way & then drop off to our new motel! From the Aussie family….

This was an awesome day out. John kept us to time whilst also making the day feel very laid back and not rushed. John was a great host - full of facts and jokes!

The trip was very nice. Even if in the morning the weather was not good, until we arrived at Te Puia, sa sun was up, all shinny. John, our driver/guide was very friendly. He introduced us to each other and he selected couriosities about each country we were coming from. The trip was very pleasant overall. Thank you, John!

This trip was amazing! It was raining in the morning, so the waterfalls in the fiord (not sound! They apparently named it wrong, which is a fact I learned on the tour) were amazing. I got wet from the glacial waterfall, and I woke up looking ten years younger! It was incredible! ;-) Most of all, I want to give props to my guide, Joseph. I found out early on in the tour that my flight the next day was cancelled, and the only flight in my price range that would get me to Sydney in time was later that night at 8:50. I told Joseph, and he made sure we got back to Queenstown by 7:00, and kept me updated on both traffic and airline issues. Unfortunately, my flight was eventually cancelled due to mechanical issues after waiting on the plane for an hour, but he got me there on time regardless, which I really appreciated. And my flight was rescheduled, so it’s all good. Hopefully, ha.

Our guide Shura was super friendly and made us feel really looked after. She drove carefully for the long trip to Milford Sound. There were lots of great stops for photos along the way. The weather was very wet, but Shura kept our spirits lifted with interesting stories and music. The lunch and snack was great! The van was also comfortable with a charging port for phones. The waterfalls at Milford Sound were spectacular. Worth the long trip! Highly recommend cheeky kiwi tours to others.

We had a great day today with Martin as our driver and guide. Martin was fantastic, he had the right combination of giving us information and narrative, being attentive to our needs, ensuring we saw all kinds of interesting things while also allowing us some downtime during the long drive there and back. If you are planning this excursion, don’t let a rain forecast change your mind. The drive there is just as magical in the rain and you see amazing waterfalls all along the drive. Just be prepared and wear a rain coat. Martin also had umbrellas available on board. The lunch provided was delicious and rather than describe the Milford Sound cruise experience I will just post some pictures here. Thanks again Martin for a great day!

Lynette was an amazing guide. She was very informative about the area on our drive out to Milford Sound. We highly recommend this tour.
Kerrie M
Jeff was an amazing guide. He made a long drive feel short with tons of great stories about the areas we drove through and their history. The views along with drive were amazing, especially once we entered Fiordland National Park. We saw thousands of waterfalls and three Kea. We enjoyed the boat ride as well with Captain Craig and mates Georgie and Matej. We even got to see a crested penguin. A wet trip, but beautiful.
C1259GWkimberlyf
What an amazing day. Yes, it's a long one, but Lynette did all she could to make the day as pleasurable as possible for everyone. We had plenty of stops along the way, both for comfort breaks, and to see the unmissable sights that you may have missed when driving yourself, Heavy rain the evening before and during the trip meant that there was water gushing down every sheer drop, so don't be put off if the weather is not good; this added considerably to the drama of this unique part of the world.
Discover593153
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Milford Sound with Lynette. She is so enthusiastic and knowledge the day flew by. The weather was awful which to be honest if what you want of you want to see the best waterfalls, they were epic. We managed a glimpse of penguins on the fiord which was wonderful. Lynette even managed to find us some Kea to watch on the way home which was the icing on the cake.
Rebecca P
Well organized visit! Had a great time at Milford Sound. Must see for anyone visiting South Island NZ. Felix was a great host!
Vineela R
We took the bus tour + Cruise to Milford sound. Chris did a great job of being guide, driving us to and back from the destination and in general being a good host. He had some game planned in the bus to everyone entertained too. They had car seats setup in the car and were ready to go when they picked us up on time. I would select them again and recommend them to friends and family. Frida did an awesome job keeping us informed and in the backend. We had the flight back from Milford Sound and that portion was refunded even before we left Milford Sound as the weather was not permissible for us to return by flight.
travelleranujk
Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She entertained us with Maori folklores and facts about New Zealand. Everything was planned nicely, with no hiccups. Safety was always observed. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We did the tour to Milford sound today which was nothing short of excellent. The scenery was simply stunning. I would like to compliment Rhys your General manager who stepped in at the very last minute to cover for a sick tour guide. This speaks volumes about your company. He was an excellent guide with great knowledge and humour that helped make the fay so memorable. Travelling in a small group just 15 of us on a 16 seater mini bus and going on a smaller less commercial boat was a major plus in my opinion. We were not able to fly back from Milford sound due to the weather unfortunately The return journey passed quicker than expected with a great choice’s in music to keep us entertained Very much recommended Cheeky Kiwi Travel
Uk_traveller
As always, a great experience with Cheeky Kiwi. Martin was a great guide. The staff helped us determine which day would most likely meet our needs. Very cool to see the fjord lands from a boat and a plane.
samanthakmartin
This is hands down one of the best tour experiences I have ever had! My tour guide, Lynette, was charming, full of energy, and excitement. You can tell that she enjoys her job and has a deep love and appreciation for New Zealand and the area. We made many stops along the way to see various sights, which really helped break up the long journey from Queenstown to Milford Sound. Lynette shared a wealth of knowledge about everything we saw and experienced along the way. Despite some wanderers, she ensured we kept to our schedule so that we would not miss our boat's departure. We were provided a lovely lunch to enjoy in the van or take along on the boat. There was a sandwich, hearty root salad, apple, AND a variety of homemade baked goods in our lunches. I appreciated that the lunch was packed in an insulated lunch box, and when possible, they used reusable packaging to cut down on waste. The cruise was incredible, and I found our boat size to be perfect. There was plenty of space on the top deck for amazing views, or inside the cabin if you were feeling chilly. I never felt like there were too many people in my way to see things. Truly hard to believe a place like this exists. We even spotted a couple of penguins! We had an amazingly sunny and beautiful day, and I am delighted I opted to fly back to Queenstown from Milford Sound. Whatever your travel budget is, make room for the flight back to Queenstown. I was the only one who had pre-booked my flight back to Queenstown, but during the drive to Milford Sound, Lynette suggested others could upgrade to a flight instead of the bus. When I got off the cruise, I was promptly whisked away to the airport, which is about 1 minute away from the dock. I think Lynette was more excited for me to fly back to Queenstown than I was in that moment. Little did I know that I was about to see the most incredible views of my life. Even if you are a nervous flyer, the views you see from the plane will make you forget any fears you have. I would not hesitate to book this tour again. I will definitely book with Cheeky Kiwi Travel for any future New Zealand trips. They were great with their communication, and you can tell that the tour guides genuinely enjoy what they do. Thanks for making my first adventure to New Zealand AMAZING.
Jessica P
Well worth the trip. Shuttle was incredibly comfy. With WiFi and power charging stations. Lunch was delicious. Scenery was breathtaking and tons of photo stops. Tour guide was fantastic with diverse stories to keep all entertained. Ferry was beautiful with surprise wildlife appearances from seals and penguins. And flight back was well worth the splurge. Spectacular scenery all around.

We had lovely day with Lynette driving to the sound stopping at some amazing places and Lynette giving us her well grounded local knowledge. It was really cool to see the mountains and streams from land. We jumped on the Cruise Milford vessel where Chris and Georgie shared their amazing part of the world with us. They had us up close and personal with the waterfalls in the Fjord and imparted great knowledge and some dad humour into the cruise. Was a great experience. Then we were lucky enough that flights were running so we flew back with Annabelle on Glenorchy Air. It was truly a spectacular flight and once again the local knowledge from Annabelle was amazing. Thanks Cheeky Monkey for a wonderful experience. Cheers Tony

Jeff was an amazing guide. He made the trip to Milford Sound outstanding . He was professional, really informative , and funny. All of us in our group said we were really glad we did the drive to Milford Sound. Spectacular scenery but made all the better through Jeff’s insights and information . I highly recommend this tour and fingers crossed you are lucky enough to get Jeff as your guide. We flew back and Michael, our pilot was outstanding also. We really appreciated the transport from the airport back to our starting place. Great day all around

The tour was absolutely brilliant, not because of Milford Sound, but only because our guide was Jason and he was beyond brilliant! Jason was knowledgeable and absolutely entertaining. He made the whole bus feel at ease and with his nuggets of knowledge along the drive, the whole trip felt so much more wholesome. Milford Sound was okay. I'd come again for Jason, not Milford Sound.

I had the best experience with Kiwi Travel — their service is truly exceptional. The planning of this unforgettable trip was seamless, and everything was organized perfectly. Our tour guide, Jason, was incredible — so attentive to every participant, sharing fascinating facts and stories, and always bringing such a positive attitude. Thank you so much for making this trip one of the best experiences of my life!
Nadiya S
A great day to remember, guide was very general in commentary, was a little disappointed as expected to gain real knowledge.

We got an awesome day weather wise! Had an awesome guide Lynette! She had the most amazing energy… She was super lovely and informative! Our scenic stops were awesome for photo ops and just taking in the scenery… The most breathtaking views! We got to see some Kea, Weka and a Kereru as well that was pretty cool! The drive down is a bit windy in parts, so if you get car sick take something so you get to enjoy the scenic drive, there’s plenty of toilet stops, the packed lunch for the cruise was really good and healthy! We got lucky and saw some dolphins, seals and penguins on the cruise. Take a battery pack to charge your phone just incase! Like I mentioned above the weather was fantastic for a flight back! And if it wasn’t that would’ve been okay riding back in the van… Thanks Cheeky Kiwi we had an absolutely brilliant time 100/100 from us
Terina K
We had Hanna as a guide for the tour and she was fantastic! She knew so much about the natural landscape and culture. The tour itself was beautiful and really well organised. I couldn’t recommend Cheeky Kiwi and Hanna enough.
Sofie S
Although the drive was long, the views were absolutely breathtaking and incredibly worth it! Shura was an amazing guide and made the time in the van fun!

Jason and Angelo took us on a day trip from Queenstown to Milford Sound. They were fantastic hosts and guides , providing a very enjoyable and informative day full of interest, fun and a deep appreciation of the sublime landscape we travelled through Jason’s personable approach and his local knowledge was a real highlight , making the day relaxed and enjoyable despite the ambitious agenda . The small group tour is an excellent way to engage with this overwhelmingly glorious landscape.

Jason was a great guide. Picked us up at Te Anau and the trip to Milford Sound was amazing and fun with lots of stops and Jason sharing his knowledge and life experiences. Totally recommend Jason as your guide and the small bus was so much better than a larger vehicle. Great lifetime experience!!
Kirstin M
The entire experience was amazing. Joe our tour guide was very informative and accommodating. I enjoyed his stories. The views were spectacular I would definitely recommend it….
Isela F
Excellent tour, our guide Joe was very attentive and informative and the scheduled photo opportunities were timed perfectly to allow bathroom stops and to stretch our legs. Would highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi Tours.

Very good tour, nice van. The guide Taijs was very kind, dedicated and professional. Enough stops for food and toiletes.

Thijs was out tour guide and he did an awesome job! Explained things well and was very friendly. Made us feel comfortable and the tour very enjoyable. Mt Cook was thrilling to hike! Beautiful day with amazing views! Recommend it to all coming to Queenstown!
Kathy J
We had a wonderful day at Mt Cook through Cheeky Kiwi. The day was exciting and enthralling with plenty of activities and time to soak in the amazing atmosphere. Big shout out to Lynette and her offsider ( sorry forgot his name) for organising, driving and for their warm, engaging and hospitable manner. Fascinating day with the highlights being the hikes and the glacier views.
Anand K
Cullen, our tour guide, was phenomenal. He gave us a lot of information on the way up to Mount Cook and offered some great suggestions. I ended up doing the heli / ski plane up to Mt Cook. Absolutely wonderful. Again, kudos to Cullen! He made it an experience for us to remember. He was very accommodating to different people doing different things.

Hi Cheeky Kiwi, I am traveling with four friends and had the good fortune to have Jonathan as a guide for our Mt. Cook. tour yesterday . It was a delightful day. The weather was perfect and the natural beauty of Mt. Cook was spectacular . Jonathan’s guidance and narration made the trip even more meaningful . He provided both historical and ecological information about the New Zealand region that made our day long journey very interesting. Jonathan was polite, professional and obviously proud of this wonderful country. As a result, we will recommend Cheeky Kiwi to our friends back home in the United States and perhaps plan another trip in the years ahead! Thank you very much for a job well done!
Constance F
Our pick up location was a bit confusing for our group as we had different pick up spots . We sorted it all out with Jonathan. He was a great guide, very professional, informative, and personable. He had lots of info to share. He gave us great suggestions for how to spend our day at Mt Cook. Mt Cook is an amazing landscape. Great day! Enjoyed the ice cream on the way back. Lovely day all around
Mary G
We loved our experience of Mount Cook with the snow with Cheeky Kiwi. It was my first time seeing snow. Highly recommend this tour. What a stunning day, spectacular views and thanks to our amazing tour guides Noah and Dean you guys were amazing. A must do if you’re in Queenstown.
Nuha F
We joined the Cheeky Kiwi Tour to Mt Cook and were lucky enough to have Joe (from the UK) as our guide - and honestly, he made the entire experience unforgettable! From the moment we stepped on the bus, Joe set the tone with his warm personality, great sense of humour, and incredible knowledge of New Zealand’s landscapes and history. He kept the whole group engaged and laughing throughout the day, while still being super organized and attentive to everyone’s needs. You could tell he genuinely cared about giving us the best possible experience - from photo stops in the most stunning spots to sharing hidden gems and local stories along the way. The drive to Mt Cook is already breathtaking, but Joe turned it into something truly special. By the end, it felt less like a tour and more like a day out with a great friend who loves what he does. If you’re thinking about booking this trip - do it! And if you’re lucky enough to get Joe, you’re in for the best day of your New Zealand adventure. 🌄💚
mwayman91
Our driver Joe had done a great hosting and driving us around. I liked the sightseeing stops and the coffee/salmon/ice cream stops. My experience can't be any better. Lovely way to enjoy my journey! Highly recommended to travel with Cheeky Kiwi!

I had a great time on the afternoon tour from Mt Cook to Queenstown. Sonya was the best guide and had the coolest stories and facts to share. Definitely a fun ride!
Nic M
The tour guide was very friendly and kind. She helped me book my trip back from Mt. Cook to Queenstown, even though I had trouble booking it online. She enthusiastically drove us to many hikes around the Mt. Cook area and pointed out which ones were worth visiting. She was also kind enough to drop me off at my hostel. I’m looking forward to watching her movie. It was amazing to hear her story, moving from Russia and transitioning from being a farmer to becoming a tour guide. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, I’m not very good with names, but I sincerely wish her all the best in life.
Hoang N
Very comfortable ride and great commentary about the areas. The photo opportunity stops and rest breaks were nice and evenly spaced. The only downside was the I had to take another vendor from Christchurch TO Mt. Cook (I traveled one way from Christchurch to Queenstown, with an overnight stop in Mt Cook village)!
Gina B
Tour guide Marry was excellent at storytelling. During the journey, she shared the story of Matakauri, which was truly touching. She also provided information about Arrowtown and Queenstown, and gave informative answers to our questions about possums. The tour was well-organised and everything ran on time.
Jiacheng L
Jonathan, our Guide, was extremely friendly and helpful. He was also extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed his commentary. Thanks for making the trip so enjoyable.
MTY2004
Kimberly did ana amazing job of hitting the highlights while we made our way from Mount Cook to Queenstown. Great views, comfortable van and no stress from driving. The stop at the orchard for fruit ice cream was yummy!
Janetbmichels
Great service but pricy. Space is cramped but there's Wi-Fi. Drivers are fantastic. Several stops along the way for snacks, drinks, and restroom break.
T_J_MX
it was a nice trip, our driver Ted is very pleasant, knowledgeable and happy to offer help. I also liked the stops on the way.
Mei R
Thank you to Soap for making this a fantastic experience. We loved your light hearted humour and authenticity. You were so kind and we learned lots of interesting facts all thanks to your knowledge of the Southlands.
RMK
Saw the most beautiful views so far in my life on this day trip! Guides were very knowledgable & nice :) So pleased we did it!
Kim G
Great company, tours and people. My second tour with them. Small group, very flexible in pick up and drop offs. Kristina is a great tour guide. Lots of stories and facts about the area. She went out of her way to get my bag that I left on one of the stops. Great favour that I really appreciate, or my vacation would be ruined. This would never be possible with the big bus. Scenery is amazing. We had time to do some trail hiking. Bus change went smoothly. They even changed the bus driver at the end (it’s only allowed to drive for max 14 hours in NZ) so that everyone would be dropped off at our hotels. I have booked several other tours with Cheeky Kiwis as I trust they will be doing a great job. Thank you, guys!
OlgaKn2016
We did not see the beauty of Mt. Cook because it was raining but the Scenic view was nice. I love my Christchurch experience. Visiting the botanical garden was my wow moments.i visited 2x to satisfy myself to appreciate the beauty of their different kinds of pretty flowers. I enjoyed like a kid smelling the aroma of fresh flowers and trees. I love Christchurch because the tourist center is only a walking distancenfrom my hotel
Amada A
Lovely trip and driver guides. We were picked up promptly. We had Shura for the first part of the trip and Karl for the 2nd half.

Very satisfied with our experience. Our tour guides Colin Karl n Jay were excellent they made the journey enjoyable with their informative commentary. Highly recommended.
Linda D
I had the best day on the trip from Queenstown to Christchurch! Hannah and Grant my two tours guides were super friendly and kind- they kept the energy throughout the long day and told many interesting and fun stories! We were lucky the weather also paid in our favour but as someone without a car it was amazing to get to see so much on the journey up and I felt there was a good amount of time to do some of the walks along the way considering the distance! Grant even went the extra mile and came back for me when I forgot my bag and for this I was extremely grateful!
Nicole E
This was an awesome trip! Definitely a must do. The drive from Queenstown to Christchurch, although long was so worth it. The views, guide Hanna, the van - everything! - were beyond my expectations! Cheeky Kiwi - you’re the best.
Tes C
The driver guides - Colin on the way from queenstown to Mt Cook and Joseph (Cheeky Kea) were both excellent. They went out of their way to be helpful. They were knowledgeable and made sure to stop by on all the scenic areas for us to take photographs. Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo were the most scenic places we have ever. Even though it was a rainy day, we had a wonderful time, doing 2 trails - the hooker trail and the Tasman Glacier trail. The view from from top of the Tasman Glacier view is awesome.Any one coming to South Island during winter, Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo must be included in their itinerary. It is even worth staying overnight in each of these locations. My wife and I enjoyed this trip thoroughly. It's a very long day trip, but it is worth it.
Sukumar65
This was a very long day in the car, but the views were beautiful and drivers were great. You get a few hours at Mt. Cook which was nice. It was a convenient way to travel to Christchurch while also getting to see some cool spots along the way.
Lanie
The views were stunning along the bus route. I saw beautiful lakes, landscapes, mountains and glaciers. Although the trip was 12 hours long, it was not boring. Most importantly, our bus driver, Stewart (or Stuart, I didn’t ask the spelling of his name), was excellent. He is a careful and responsible driver. The driving was very smooth and on time, yet he allowed enough time for us to take photos at scenic spots. Moreover, he is very knowledgable. He explained the geography, history, landscape, culture, plant, and animals along the way. His explanation and stories enriched and made my trip more interesting and informative. I really enjoyed the trip and found it very worthy. I would highly recommend this bus trip.
Jennifer W
Fast, reliable, and well-organized. Our guide was fantastic — knowledgeable and eager to share lots of interesting facts about the area. We made some great stops along the way, and there was plenty of time to enjoy the hiking.
Irina K
Great trip with the guide providing all the insights into the history of NZ, extremely friendly. Experience all the great views of mountains, lakes and walking tracks.
david k
Felix and Nick were great guides. Though we had a rainy day at Mount Cook, Felix was accommodating and offered alternative activities for guests to enjoy. Transition also between transportation was smooth. Lastly, the transportations were spacious and comfortable though it was packed. Will definitely recommend.

Really good experience and driver is so friendly and giving us frequent commentary about the significant of the places and taking care of the passengers too
Ramalingam M
This tour was honestly just incredible! They picked me up from my hotel in a fancy van and we saw some amazing photo stops up to Mt Cook. They took me to see the Tasman Glacier and also some of the Hooker Valley track. The end is closed because they are building a new bridge but the bit we did was awesome! Despite the weather and the closed Hooker Valley, I enjoyed myself. Beautiful views, great guides, there's nothing more to ask for.

Kimberly, our bus driver, is an absolutely wonderful person. She is remarkably strong and dedicated, effortlessly handling large, heavy luggage on her own —truly impressive! Despite the chilly early morning, she greeted us with warmth and expertise, instantly brightening our day. She also offered invaluable advice and thoughtful suggestions to help us plan our hike along the Mount Cook Walking Track. Though the day started cloudy, her cheerful encouragement kept our spirits high, and we were delighted when the sun finally broke through by midday. Thank you, Kimberly, for making our experience so memorable!

A really nice tour, our Guide Grant was fab. I really enjoyed our stop at the black sand beach, breathtakingly beautiful. Davenport is a cute little town, Mt. Eden wonderful. The place we had lunch at was very cool - it was outdoors with a beach-modern feel to it. This was my 5th Cheeky Kiwi tour in 2 weeks and I have loved them all. I go on another tomorrow! I’m a solo traveler and I’m so grateful for their dedication to making sure I’m enjoying myself. For not canceling tours when not at capacity (I’m traveling during the off-season). I can easily say they have been a big part of how amazing my trip has been.

Cathedral Cove is so beautiful! Nice hike and beautiful beach! Our tour guide Ari is very professional, always ask us if we have any questions, very knowledgeable about the tour and mew zealand history. She guides us accordingly, tells us what’s happening on the tour and advises us what’s next. Excellent Job!

This was such a wonderful experience, Mark was a great tour guide, very friendly, chill and really brought the group together. He was very informative and allowed us plenty of time to enjoy each place without feeling rushed. We had plenty of stops there and back and saw some beautiful sites and hot water beach was a great experience. Would highly recommend if you’re apprehensive about guided tours as I was.

The place and tour guide are good. Just a bit expensive for just like a uber driving very long way to one senic spot at coromedal island and back to city.

This 2-day tour was the absolute highlight of our trip. From The Glow Worm Caves (Waitomo) to Hobbiton to Rotorua and Taupo, we never stopped being amazed by the beauty and wonder that is New Zealand. Our tour guide John was AWESOME and kept us entertained and laughing throughout the whole trip. Would definitely do again!

The tour guide Pearl, went above & beyond. The sites were jaw dropping amazing. Hobbiton was so magical. The glow worm caves were spectacular. We enjoyed stopping in Rotorua, swimming in the thermal pool and stopping to wade in the warm thermal stream. The geothermal pools were a feast of incredible, natural beauty. Pearl was so helpful and anticipated our every need. The two day tour packed in a lot with extra stops of interest! We loved it and I would highly recommend it! Thank you to Pearl for your kindness and hospitality.

My travel group booked cheeky kiwi and we had such a great experience with John. He was a funny guy and you could tell he loved the country so much and was proud to show you around. He made sure we got great views and photos and provided us with all the insider knowledge for travelling NZ

John was an amazing driver and really knowledgeable of the area we went to. Everyone knows John. He took us from Auckland to Rotorua via Hobbiton and Waitomo and was happy to change our schedule when things didn't go to plan. Thanks again John!
